David Hensley, Artistic Director

David L. Hensley joined FCA in the Fall of 2004.  He is Professor of Music and Director of Choral Activities at Porterville College, a position he has held since 1995.   A 1980 graduate of California State University, Fullerton, Hensley earned his Master's Degree in Choral Conducting from Northern Arizona University (1991) and has advanced study in Choral Music from the University of Kentucky. He also serves on the music faculty at CSU Fresno, is an assistant conductor of the Fresno Community Chorus, and is Music Director at the First Congregational Church in Porterville, where he lives with his wife Tami and two children.

Catherine Walker, Accompanist

Ms. Walker is FCA's local rehearsal and concert accompanist.  She has been an accompanist for various choral groups in the Fresno area.  She is presently the accompanist for the Fresno Community Chorus, as well as Fresno Choral Artists. She is Organist/Choir Director of Sierra Vista Presbyterian Church in Oakhurst. She has been a piano teacher for many years. Her professional memberships include National Association of Church Musicians and Music Teachers Association. She holds the Colleague Certificate with The American Guild of Organists.

Business Manager

Barbara Volker is a graduate of California State University Fresno with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing and a Master of Science Degree in Nursing Education.  She is owner of Volker Consulting Service, specializing in hospice and palliative care issues.  She has been actively involved with end-of-life care for 20 years and is recognized nationally as a hospice writer, editor and educator.  Barbara has been a singer with Fresno Choral Artists since 1996 and a member of the FCA Board since 1998.  She has served the Board as Secretary, President and Vice President.  She also sings with Fresno Community Chorus and the choir of St. Columba Church.  Other credits include both chorus and principle roles with Fresno Opera Association and the role of Mrs. Peachum in The Three Penny Opera with The Fresno Lyric Opera Theater.
